Born and raised in London, England, Barbara spent her early years making up bedtime stories for her young brother. To this day, she considers herself a storyteller rather than a writer. She won her first short story competition at the age of 14 and was big- headed for ages when the story appeared in the local newspaper.
Writing sat on the backburner until the early 1980s, when a car accident kept Barbara bedridden for six weeks. A friend set up a laptop so she could write down the stories she'd made up for her children .... and she hasn't stopped since! As a freelance writer, her short stories and articles have appeared in a variety of newspapers, magazines and journals.
Barbara's family moved to Australia in 1968, when she started work as a receptionist. An office life continued until 1981 when she attended the Edith Cowan University, studying to be a teacher of English and Business Studies.
Since graduating, Barbara has combined her teaching and administration experiences with writing. Her work as a business consultant and mentor, has allowed her to extend her book list.
